Hi all.
I rescued a corso from my local animal shelter back in may .
At least I think he's a cane corso! http://www.oddfellow.net/corso
You tell me!
'Bob' is now nearly 18 months old.... as was doing great until the other day when he a full blown bladder loosening grand mal seizure :'(
I don't know his provenance or how he was treated in the first year or so of his life
So now I'm out on the net looking for similar experiences. While one seizure does not a pattern make, it can't be a good thing to have one so young. BTW been to the vet already and we're monitoring the situtation. No meds as yet.
Despite this setback, I still love the breed and am continuing research into breeders.
For a 'rare' dog, there sure seems to be a lot of choice out there! ;)
Ideally, since I live in Vancouver Canada I'd like to find a reputable breeder some place close... tho I'm willng to travel some distance ... to alberta to the east and oregon to the south.... maybe california if some breeders are willing to meet me part way!
Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Welcome Archer,
I'm from Vancouver too, more specifically, POCO. Whre are you located?
I was looking into the breed too, and found Lisa Rooney of Antiquity in Langley. She's great, but busy, and Im not so sure she's breeding at this time, but you should call her. her phone number is on her website I think. Just google Antiquity Cane Corso.
I ended up getting a Bullmastiff a couple of weeks ago - a divorce situation and the dog needed a home. So while I've had to give up on my dream of owning a CC for now, I have fallen completely and totally in love with my new girl, Tess!
I sure hope your guy is going to be ok!

i'm in the beautiful swamp of Richmond.
i have called Antiquity and left a msg .... no response :(
i am pretty sure that i saw on this board that she was thinking of breeding her dogs this fall.... but nothing on the her website.
i do wish that people would return calls/emails. it's just the professional thing to do.... even if it's to say thanks but we're not breeding or nothing's happening till.... etc.
then I would have to stalk them ;)

i think the same way, breeders shut send a e mail or a 1 minute phone call to say thanks but i have no pups, and hang on the phone.
i hate to be waiting for a e mail answer or a phone call and never get it.

I know she's hard to get ahold of, but when you do, wow the knowledge she has! Maybe try emailing her - that's how most of my communication has been. Im not sure if she still has her female but the last time I talked to her she was considering studding out her gorgeous male, Benicio. She has some pics posted of him on this forum somewhere.

E-mail works best with Lisa. Last I heard is that there are no planned litters for now. But for the knowledge it is great to talk to her anyway ;)
