Title: hello from seattle
Post by: lolagirl on July 02, 2010, 04:56:20 PM
hello all, my name is carly.  i have a 3 yr old corso ~ blusteel's lola.  she is an amazing dog (thank you so much pete!) ... the beat of my heart, and the inspiration for my passion for this breed.

i recently had to put my 2 yr old male ~ blue moon's jones ~ to sleep  :'(  but hope to add another corso to my family in a couple/few more years.

happy to meet some new friends and be part of your group  :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. If you don't mind me asking, why did you have to put your 2 yr. old dog down ?

hi justice

he was very fearful even from the time that he was a puppy.  i socialized him extensively -- took him nearly everywhere (street fairs, parks, schools, training classes, pet stores, hardware stores, friends houses etc)....but he still was very timid and fearful of new places/people/situations.  he started to become fear aggressive about a year ago...and altho i was able to manage him well enough, it did not improve.  he started to get worse as he matured, and he ended up biting me twice on two separate occasions (once on the hand and once in the face).  because he was becoming so unpredictable as to what would scare him and what would not, and becoming aggressive to me and my other dog as well, i decided the best thing to do would be to put him down.  :(

I am just going to add to Carly's story as I am familiar with it, he was not the only pup from his litter with serious fear issues.
Although the other pup has yet to become aggressive with her fear, she does shake and urinate if approached from what I have been told.
