Hello Everyone,

My Breeder sent word of your group and here I am, happy to join. I own 2 CCs, one is 30-mos black brindle and the other is 5-mos red brindle. Both are girls and what a rush to own even one CC. I got my 1st one quite by unplanned circumstance. At the time, I was finding homes for a few dogs to keep them from the local shelter. Having placed 3 (including one new sniffer with the local police) a friend relayed urgent circumstances that resulted in a 4-hr trip. I won't describe the what, where or whom (because we can't stop people from owning more dogs or legitimizing their appearance). Checkbook and bankcard in hand yielded successful talks to relinquish what I thought was an attractive rottweiller/lab mixed "dog."  On the way home we stopped at the pet shop to purchase a new collar and sorts - we made it as far as the curb beside my car. While coaxing her not to be afraid, a man walked by and said she looked like a CC. "Sorry, never heard of them." We got home, she ran in my house and refused to go outside until a week (with more coaxing) later. Walking down the street, a man popped out of his truck, said he owned 5 CCs and guessed she was about 6 mos old. Then papers arrived and my "dog" was a 5-mos puppy. Having past owned 2 other rare breeds, I hadn't considered "owning" any more dogs - just happy to find homes for the soon-to-be homeless. While doing the responsible thing of researching the breed, she comes into my house ready-made for my lifestyle. Never needed housebreaking, willing for the command, beats me to the door to go back inside, no chewing, tearing and intuitive with me and other people. So what to consider? Several years ago, I decided to fancy only rare breeds prefer short-hair, low grooming, easy training, gentle with children and instinctively protective. Here's one dropped into my lap and that's where she is on most nights, now at 87 lbs.

My second pup I purposely researched, comparing several breeders' stock and programs. I bought her from a very good Breeder - the same one who sent me word of your forum.  I don't think they'll mind me mentioning Mad River Cane Corsos (hope you don't either!). We were in our 1st show and there will be more coming. Now, if a more experienced owner can tell me if I should be worried about her natural ears folding to the side inside of straight down? Will they fold down on their own? So far, she's best me in taping them. I know that cropping is the norm in the US, but I like the ears.

Sorry, but all of my picture file sizes are bigger than the attachment limit. I'll post pictures as soon as I figure this one out. Can anyone lend a word on this problem?

Make an account on http://www.photobucket.com . You can upload your pics there and they will automatically reseize. You can post those pics here with the [ img] [/img ] code. The url to the pic in between ;) You can find the code to post pics on php forums with every pic you uploaded to photobucket. It's very easy, once you figured it out ;)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your helpful words. I didn't want to reply until I had taken some sort of action. Good News: I've posted pictures of my 2 Cane Corsos on the web. I'm going to work on this linking task in a second. Just in case I fail, you can see my photos at: www.msnusers.com/CaneCorsos or http://groups.msn.com/CaneCorsos  are the addresses and YOU CAN USE IT TOO for free.

Each user gets 30MB storage with an MSN (or Hotmail) email acct. You can use it with a different acct. I just don't know the storage amount. Go to the website, click on "photos" to see mine or join the group, then create your own photo album that everyone will be able to see. In fact, everyone that uses the Net can see our photos. (Great access for breeders selling new pups in the future, is one thought. Uploading a printable photo will allow buyers to get their own copies). The site offers all of the tools and any needed software to upload, customize or even order prints if you want to. If everyone is happy with this service and is approving of this ability in this forum. Then do the proper or tell me how. I was very careful to make sure there aren't any hidden purchases, charges, ads and the like. I make no profit at all except to know that I may have created something that will make this whole process a little easier AND I get to see everyone's photos at once instead of individually. It was free to me, so it will be free to you.

Now the problem: I find myself managing this resource without any experience but recognizing that there are a lot of things we can do with this opportunity - together as a group. So anyone with ideas - please send a word. I assure you I'm not determined to be controlling - only nice. And my learning will progress rapidly while waiting for your feedback.
