Introduction
« on: June 19, 2006, 09:26:44 PM »
Hello Everyone,
My name is Ewa Winn and I am a Corso enthusiast.  There is no other dog to equal a Corso.  I live in the U.S. and this is a time of change for the Corso breed here because the CCAA is in the process of seeking AKC recognition.   We can only hope that such recognition will have good results but looking at other breeds such as the German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Great Dane and so many of us are very concerned.

I have been following Corsos for 11 years (have owned three) and have already seen many changes in the breed.   The first Corsos I saw were from Alaric and Bel Monte, and for a long time Bel Monte dogs dominated the breed.  Today we have many Italian imports and mixtures of American/Italian Corsos.   Descendants of the Bel Monte dogs still dominate in the show ring.  But there are also owners who work their Corsos, anything from flyball to weight pulling to police and protection work.   There are Corsos who compete in agility and from personal experience I can say they are great at it.  Surprising for a short muzzled dog, I had a Corso who excelled in tracking.   I call the Corso the total dog - one that can do everything.

This is an excellent forum for Corso people and I am very pleased to be part of this select group.

You made it!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome on board ;D
11 years........ Times sure flies when you are having fun. ;) 11 Years ago, I got my first Corso. The good old days........ I have seen the changes too. But I am very happy that I found out that my own taste in Corsos did not change much. At least not at all over the past 6 years.
Are you coming to the GSD show with Fred Lanting judging in August?

Hi Ewa,

I believe we met you once at our house in Holland ;-)

Welcom to the board.
Yep, that's her ;D
She is not used to forums like this. So she might have some problems replying. The old BB's were easier.
