need to find a good home asap
« on: June 21, 2009, 06:57:07 PM »
i have a 13 month old black female cane corso that unfortunately i need to get rid of.  i have to get rid of her because she is too aggressive with other dogs.  3 weeks ago she attacked my girlfriends mom's
lab and today she attacked my girlfriends miniature schnauzer.  this is probably one of the hardest things ive had to do because shes the best dog ive ever had and this is basically my fault cause i didnt get her around enough dogs when she was a pup.  she is really sweet and affectionate with people so she
needs to go to a good home without other dogs.  she is currently up to date with all of her shots and
she was just spayed yesterday.  if anyone would like her or know anyone who would want her it would really help me out. i am located in las vegas, nevada.  thank you

why don't you find a good trainer and work on it?
aggression on other dogs can be solved and the roots to the problem can be many things
it's a shame to give away a dog when the problem is treatable

i would but i have 2 other dogs at home and i can never trust her. both attacks happened very quickly and out of the blue. i'd keep her if i didnt have the other dogs but i worry everyday that im going to have a problem

was she always stressed about them, how there state between them? who rules who
it can be dominance that equal to them, it can be fear aggression and possession for toy, food, place or even a blanket.
noting happens out of the blue, for each thing a dog does there is a reason.
you said one of them is a dog of your mother? so this dog isn't a regular in the house?
i do recommend to go for a trainer and consult, such problems needed to be addressed at home where possible to see the interactions of all with all
try to answer what i write and i'll try to help, even if not really professional to consulte before seeing the dog, anything you can try will be less stress than separation from her home and pack.
you said you keep her away, how?

I've had a similar problem with my puppy Apollo. He was getting very aggressive torts my other two little dogs. He bid my blind Lhasa Apso in the head and wouldn't let go. Apollo is only 9 month old he started when he was about 7 month. We have a really good trainer here in Las Vegas. He trained both of my CC and they are very well behaved now. I only used the trainer for 4 hours. A friend of mine also had a problem with his CC. I told him to call our trainer. His son wanted to move back home and his CC didn't let his son in the house he got bit really bad a few times. Now the son is living back home no more biting the son he even gets kisses from the dog. So it is all about training. You can change the behavior. Like I said it takes about 4 hours and of course you have to keep training your dog. Let me know if you would like his phone number he is really good and comes to your house for training.
