Hello Mauro,

be very welcomed in this forum, where you can hear much about the Cane Corso and his breed!

I like your dogs very much. What is the pedigree of Baal?
He is a strong male and nice ;-)!

Thanks for your compliments!
Baal is from Bocci's bloodlines : Compagno III x Pina, directly from San Giovanni Rotondo.
He's about 65Kg (143 Lbs) of bones and muscles  ;D

ehi mauro, sono aquilasolitaria. se leggi la mia presentazione,( vabbe`scrivo in inglesec he cazzo so every one can understand me).you will see that i have 3 cc. purebreed and 8 crosses for wild boar hunting0 caccia al cinghiale and now also pecaries. we and my wife are fanatics for this breed and i would have a plenty of stories to tell. we hunt straight southamerican stile ,without guns or at less a revolver but we just use a knife.dog and knife or perro y cuchillo.and i think corsos are better or at same level of dogos argentinos. us cc.they also are splendid for guard and personal defense, no speaking of guard of the truck.  saudos from brasil, aquilasolitaria and his cani è presa

Hi Aquilasolitaria
You describe the "caza major" .... "great hunt" in english ..... is not cheap !!!
Corso in still used for wild board hunting somewhere here in Italy .....
Corso could be a real adaptable and multi-purpose working dog.  ;D
I'm glad to have testimonials of this also from other nations !!!
Would you like to show us some pictures of your dogs ?
Thank to all !
And, last but not least, because you use the term "cane è presa" i suppose you comes from Naples or its countrysides .......  ;)
I love these places ............
Mauro.

And also in italian :
Ciao Aquilasolitaria.
Amo quelle località ........
Mauro

no mauro i am not from southern italy, i am half of parma ,half from florence, uruguayan where i lived 13 years and now brasilero for election. but still proud to have italian passport! i sign my posts because when i was young i knew that in southern italy still was unofficially present a breed of dogs called ' cani da presa' , similars to the mastino nap. generally used by malandros or mafiosos.the grand parents of mines i bought in buenos aires and rosario, and no one failed for character and hunting qualities. i really think they are better or the same  for hunting with dogo arg. but very much better for guard and defense. you say that in italy there are someone 'doing 'caza mayor- cacciagrossa' as we do. please put me in contact with them.   aquilasolitaria and his 'cani e`presa'

I,m of the northen Italy too.
Before the recognization of the two breed old name of the neapolitan mastiff was "can' è presa" and of the cane corso was "can corz" and the term "cani è presa" was peculiar of Naples.
First standard of the neapolitan mastiff speak about "Mastino Napoletano (can' è presa, cane corso)"
And the breeds was been still different from the "modern" ones .........
I hear about wild board hunting with Corso or with Abruzzese, but I don't know anyone who do this !
A stroke to yours "cani è presa".
Mauro
