Tony,
Of course my girl won't be old enough to show yet, but I would love to see the Corso. I am very interested in what judges are placing. Do you find that they choose one specific color?
I noticed there is a list for Meet the Breed, but alas, no Corso? That's a shame.

Hi Trish,
I notice the same thing for this IKC show no one stepped up to do the meet the breed. ???
My wife and myself did a meet the breed once in Wisconsin and it was so much work because it was only the two of us and way to many people. It got so busy we had maybe five people asking question at once.  So if i had to do it all over again we would need much more help. I'd like to know how many Corso are showing @ this event so if anyone on here is going please post. So trish are you going to this show?  Not sure about the color quistion.

Yes, he owns my heart! LOL! As I am sure Ziva will also. I would like to attend the Chicago show and get a look at how the judges are placing the dogs. I think it's important to see what is being put up and how the judges are selecting. I know different judges seem to focus on different aspects. Some go for head, some look at bite, etc. I want to get to know who is choosing what in my area at least, so that I know what to expect when I get Ziva in the ring.
With the Corso being new to AKC, I would imagine the judges are still trying to adapt to the breed standard and may not always choose what I think is the "standard" dog. But such is life in the ring, eh?

In my opinion, the AKC judges still have a very long way to figuring out what a Cane Corso should look like and move like in the ring.  The judging is very inconsistent and to have a judge only judge for head type or movement is a great disservice to the breed.

One can only hope the CCAA will get out there and approve more ringside mentors to educate the AKC judges before it is too late.
